GM allows the driver to change to metric via the Driver Information Center. To go to mph/mpg, the driver would go to the DIC and make the selection. The gauges and readings change instantaneously. The car was probably set to metric when the photo was taken.

The speedo is in km/h but based on teh spacing of the numbering looks like it should be shown as mph. The fuel economy is also in L/100km
